The whole art of teaching is only

The Torch Yearbook is more than a tradition at East
Bridgewater High School. It is the production of a
dedicated staff. Together this staff works for hours on
end to create a successful yearbook. However, it is
essentially our advisor, Mr. Paone, that accounts for the
yearbook's production. The staff would like to thank
Mr. Paone for all of his hard work and dedication. We
would also like to thank our computer specialist, Mrs.
Russell, and our typist, Mrs. Kelm, for all of their hard
work. Their efforts have truly made this year's year-

"You can't get there from here."

"You'll be sorry." "Never happen."
"Why bother?" "Be cool."
"Play it safe." "It'll never work."
"Leave well enough alone."

Conventional wisdom. Sometimes, it seems, all that

is heard is a discouraging word.

But as a high school graduate, you have some

unconventional opportunities coming up.

Why not shoot for the moon?

The people of The Foxboro Company hope

you make it.

IN MEMORY OF
MARY WILCOX

We were all deeply saddened by the loss of a very special teacher and friend, Mary
Wilcox.

Mrs. Wilcox first touched our lives as our Middle School chorus teacher and through
the years her kindness and generosity brought a special quality to our lives. For those
of us with an interest in music, Mrs. Wilcox taught the choral groups and created the
first Show Choir at East Bridgewater High School. However, those of us who never
belonged to a musical group were also affected by the work of Mary Wilcox. Her
efforts in producing the Spring Musicals as well as the musical selections for
Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremonies were enjoyed by all.

The following poem was written by Linda McMaster a teacher in Vermont who died
recently of cancer. We would like to dedicate this special poem in memory of Mary
Wilcox.

LEGACY

I'm not going to grow old with you,

But I had the absolute joy of growing up with you.
I'll be as old or as young as you choose me to be,

Filled with as much happiness or doubt
As much confidence or blunder

As much humor or love
As you wish to recall.

The memory is yours, unknowingly given.
Who knew it would be your favorite or your last?

A person at life's end with no future must rely on the past
To create a new future in your memory.

Carry that moment or day with you.
Recreate it with all the details you wish.

It  is  yours  to  keep;
It is my gift.
